[AC-Admins] Quoting style for mailing lists, newsgroups, and forums

After reading some of the posts on this list as of late, I was
noticing some bad/wasteful/messy message quoting habits. Since this is
a small, tight-knit group of techies, I think it'd be pretty easy to get
folks to adapt to age-old style rules that have been around since the
BBS days. Check out http://lipas.uwasa.fi/~ts/http/quote.html for
details on proper quoting style. It really helps trip up the excess fat
on the edges of your e-mails.

The general rule of thumb is that quoting is only there to remind
your recipient to what you're referring. You should almost never need
to include signatures, whitespace, entire uncut previous messages, or
mailing list management text that's autmatically added to every message
in your replies. Cut all of that stuff out, and things are much easier
to follow. Pippin, Harik, Cheetah... You guys have it down, don't
change a thing. :)
