Well, as far as templates are concerned- no worries!  I've got 
everything citing a template page on the main site. Example: 
http://tixen.anthrochat.net/ (all I copied over was the server 
index.php- nothing more!)  So that's not an issue.  As far as setting up 
and configuring apache, true it's not exactly necessary, but it /would/ 
be neat if for no other reason then to have our website on every server 
if one of our users were to for some reason try to pull up each 
individual server via a web browser. 
Silly? Yes. 
More work then it will probably be worth?  Yes. 
Professional looking and functioning?  Oh hells yes.

That final reason is why I want to do it.
