I'm very glad of this fact.

Interestingly enough, we're not going "emo" about it. Your actions in
this instance have been very much against the general way things (at
least the things I've witnessed) are done here. You change the settings
for the mailing list without consulting anyone else before you do so.
While the mailing list is, in fact, not the IRC network that we
administrate, it seems to me that the settings on said list should be
part of the list of things the admin group should have at least /some/
say in. I'd say your actions in this instance are examples of us
passing a different sort of test with flying colors- the dictatorship vs
democracy test.

I do not see that as logical thought progression in any way shape or
form. My logic behind your actions are listed above. My other reasons
for disliking that particular setup is simply that, by majority, you
(and /maybe/ Pippin) are the only ones who care about how e-mails are
quoted at all. The rest of us are just posting and replying to e-mails
as we are accustomed to doing. This is simple personal preference, and
nothing more- and you're making this much of a deal out of it? I
apologize if I become a bit agitated at you for your complete and
blatant disregard for others' opinions on the matter, but when you flat
out -without even waiting for the slightest bit of approval from your
fellow administrators- make a monumental decision such as personally
filtering emails (whether or not it's executed), my first reaction is
obviously going to be one of protest. This isn't a battle about how to
properly post email any longer, Simba, it's a battle of fair, democratic
administration- which is what I assumed we were practicing when I was
/voted/ in.

Your efforts in this matter are unwarranted, unwanted, and necessary.

I'm sorry if my response seems a bit sharp, but I'm just short of
exasperated at your logic here.
