If you registered your nickname with Nickserv and used it
(/nickserv identify {password}) within the last 30 days (I think - it
may be 60), you can recover your nickname from someone else using it by
using the /nickserv recover command or the /nickserv ghost command.
"Recover" will just force the person holding the nickname to change
their name to one of the "Guest" nicknames, then place a services bot in
place of your nickname. You can release that services bot by using the
/nickserv release command. Alternatively, the /nickserv ghost command
can be used to disconnect the user from the network, entirely and force
them to re-connect. It's the "less humane" way to do it.

To get information on these or other nickserv commands, please
view the nickserv help system by using /nickserv help. You can receive
detailed information on each command by including the name of the
command after the word "Help": /nickserv help recover (for instance).

If someone else has registered your nickname because you let it
expire, it is rightfully theirs until they let it expire.
