AnthroChat's policy for its network administrators (the people
running the servers, not the channels) is based on the idea behind
freedom of speech. It's also based on the old adage, "sticks and stones
may break my bones, but words can never hurt me". Administrators are
not allowed to use admin-only commands to mediate any verbal dispute
between AnthroChat's users. For more details on the policy, please
review our mission statement at:
http://www.anthrochat.net/mission.txt
and our frequently asked questions on the main page of our web site:

In short, every individual who connects an IRC client to any of
AnthroChat's servers has the same rights to send whatever arrangement of
text to the servers that they wish. The only exception to that freedom
is the case of automated spam robots, advertising content that exists
outside of AnthroChat or specifically designed to cause interruption of
service to a considerable mass of other users.
Users are encouraged to use available tools to limit text from
others that they do not wish to read. Those tools include, but are not
limited to:
Mentally ignoring "problem" individuals (that is... Just choosing not
to respond to them. If you don't respond, they have no reason to talk
at you)
Utilizing your client's "ignore" command, which simply mutes a user by
not printing their text in your client
and
Utilizing the server-side "silence" command, which mutes a user by
preventing their text from being distributed to your client.
Every individual also has the right to create and manage their
channels as they see fit by using the channel operator commands they are
granted by founding a channel. If you disagree with how someone is
managing their channel, you are free to create your own channel and
invite the users to which you would like to speak. You are then granted
the channel operator commands to remove individuals that you find to be
undesirable.
