      It may not be your machine, but the router your machine uses for 
NAT to get out to the Internet.  I just checked it manually, and I was 
able to, from my home computer:

Configure XChat to use 174.1.244.204, port 8080 as a proxy server 
(HTTP), and connect to AnthroChat from your IP.  That means that it's 
wide open to be used maliciously and most of the time, connections to 
IRC from hosts with open proxies are drones/flood bots.  That's why 
they're checked by our server and automatically G:lined.

*Something* is responding to port 8080 on your external IP address and 
acting as a wide open HTTP proxy.  I don't know what it is, 
specifically, but there's no doubt that it's there.

      Or... at least... when I first tried it, it was there.  Now, it 
appears to be closed.  Have you done something to track it down?
